About Us

Come take a drive down Sweet Lane~

When the Laster Family first moved into their house on Sweet Lane one thing that came to their mind was that it was a perfect spot to raise children. Little did they know that this would be the place where they would help raise and care for children in their community.

On six beautiful acres conveniently located off of Lake Blaine Road, Sweet Pea has an organic feel like something you may have stumbled across while hiking in the forest. Old growth Ponderosa pines and Douglas fir, native plants, and Blaine Creek running through the children’s playground provides a natural environment for children to explore and engage all of their senses. Not only does Sweet Pea present opportunities to discover the natural world, they combine a sort of self-sustainable lifestyle into their daily routine. The children get to raise chickens, everything from feeding to collecting eggs. They also learn how to grow their own food from seed to harvest! At Sweet Pea we realize the importance of the cycle of life, and by incorporating this into our curriculum we create a sense of respect for all living things on our planet.013.JPG  What is next for Sweet Pea? At this time, the Lasters are enjoying the beginning of what is a lifelong passion of connecting children to nature. They plan to expand and offer outdoor opportunities for children and teenagers.

If you would like to come take a look at our Sweet Little Haven please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to schedule you a tour.
